The Currituck County Board of Commissioners approved the establishment of the Whalehead Service District for Solid Waste Collection and Disposal at their June 20 meeting. A tax rate of $.015 per $100 property valuation will be accessed to fund this district. Also, at the same meeting an increase of $.05 per $100 property valuation was approved for the existing Drainage Service District.
